Plan ahead: These interstates and streets will be closed this weekend

Now that summer is here and the weather is warming up, more people are out and about on the roads.

But the nicer weather also means more construction crews doing much needed repairs to the state's roads and bridges.

This weekend, the Indiana Department of Transportation will have five highway projects happening simultaneously.

Also continuing is construction for the IndyGo Red Line, expected to begin service on Sept. 1. This has impacted traffic as workers pave streets, finish station structures and repair infrastructure.

If you plan to be out driving around town or heading on a road trip this weekend, be on the lookout for the bright orange barrels and plan ahead for these closures and traffic restrictions.
