Woman killed in shooting on northwest side, Indianapolis police said

Police are investigating a shooting where a woman died and a child was taken to the hospital.

Around 1:40 p.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police responded to a shooting in the 4900 block of Clarkson Drive.

When they arrived, officers found a woman with gunshot wounds. She was taken to a hospital where she later died. Her name has not yet been released.

A child found at the scene was also taken to a hospital and treated for injuries. Police have not confirmed the cause of the child’s injuries.
