Woman found dead in north side Indianapolis alley

Indianapolis police are investigating after a woman was found dead Thursday morning on the north side.

According to IMPD, officers were called to the 1000 block of West 36th Street around 9 a.m. on a report of a person down in an alley.

When officers arrived, they located an unresponsive woman, who medics pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not yet released the woman's name.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office is assisting and will determine the manner and cause of death.
