IPS bus crashes into east-side cash advance and pawn shop

Indianapolis police are investigating after an Indianapolis Public Schools bus carrying more than 20 students crashed into an east side cash advance and pawn business Tuesday morning.

The crash was reported shortly before 7 a.m. at East 16th Street and North Emerson Avenue, according to police dispatch records. A sedan was also involved in the collision.

Police said the bus was carrying students from Arsenal Technical High School when it crashed into the Cash America Pawn location at 5103 E. 16th St. Medics were called to the scene to check all the occupants of both vehicles, and there were no reported injuries.

Information about what may have caused the crash has not been released.
