Three people in a car shot in intersection on south side of Indianapolis, police say
Three people in a vehicle were shot Wednesday evening on the south side of Indianapolis, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
A police spokesperson said officers were called to the intersection of Southport Road and U.S. 31 South around 7 p.m. for a report of a person shot.
Responding officers found two men and one woman shot in a white car in the intersection. The vehicle was shot at several times, police said.
Witnesses told police they saw a dark car drive up and then shots were fired at the vehicle.
Investigators say they do not believe the shooting was a random attack.
All three victims were taken to nearby hospitals, according to police.
