Indianapolis International Airport gets 2 new direct flights

Officials with Allegiant and the Indianapolis Airport Authority on Tuesday announced new nonstop routes to West Palm Beach, Florida, and Tucson, Arizona, starting this November.

According to an Allegiant press release, flights to West Palm Beach will be year-round beginning Nov. 25. Flights to Tucson will be seasonal service launching Nov. 14.

These new routes will operate twice a week, and with the addition of these routes, Allegiant will provide service to 15 cities from Indianapolis International Airport.

To celebrate the new routes, Allegiant is offering one-way fares to the locations for as low as $59. Officials said the introductory one-way fares are limited and not available on all flights. To take advantage of the special pricing, flights must be purchased by Aug. 14 for travel by May 12, 2020.

"Allegiant is quickly becoming an airline of choice for Indianapolis leisure travelers," Mario Rodriguez, Indianapolis Airport Authority executive director, said in a statement. "The value of the Indy airport hinges on travelers being able to 'get there from here,' and Allegiant is proving instrumental in making that happen."

Allegiant began operating out of Indianapolis in February 2015. In February 2018, Allegiant Travel Company celebrated the opening of a $40 million base of operations in Marion County.

The Indianapolis hub is the company's 13th permanent base of operations that launched with two Airbus aircraft and more than 80 locally based personnel. This year, Allegiant further expanded its crew base operations with the addition of a third aircraft.

“Those investments are adding value to the Indy airport and community,” Rodriguez said in a statement. “Allegiant has grown its presence in Indianapolis significantly since its first flight here in 2015, and that’s a big part of why we can firmly say ‘you can get there from here.'"
