Fargo business celebrates International Axe Throwing Day

You might not have heard, but Thursday, June 13 is International Axe Throwing Day.

And if you're looking for an opportunity to take part, there's a place in Fargo that offers the activity. Triple Ax, 5229 51st Ave. S. in Fargo is celebrating the day with half-hour sessions from 5-10 p.m. for $5.

Ax throwing is gaining popularity nationwide, with more than 100 businesses offering the activity in cities across the U.S. Triple Ax has been open since March, and owners say they've already had over 1,500 hundred participants.

As long as you have appropriate footwear, anyone can throw an ax.

"We have coaches on hand, so once you come in you don't have to be scared because you don't know what you're doing," said Triple Ax co-owner Marcel Baumgartner. "You have a coach kind of explain the rules with you and the basics . . . and you get to throwing."
