ST. PAUL — The Great Minnesota Get-Together will get a taste of the Red River Valley this Sunday, Aug. 25, during a local food celebration at the Minnesota State Fair.
For the 17th year, the Minnesota Cooks program will showcase partnerships between chefs and farmers with a day of cooking demonstrations.
The event kicks off at 10 a.m. Sunday with chef Ryan Nitschke of Moorhead’s new eatery, Sol Ave. Kitchen, and Luna Fargo, pairing up with Noreen Thomas of Doubting Thomas Farms, of Moorhead, to make mushroom bacon panzanella with farm-fresh egg gribiche and seasonal vegetables. Five chef/farm pairings will follow throughout the day.
