FARGO — Authorities have released the identity of an elderly woman who was found dead in a car Wednesday, Jan. 30, in a grocery store parking lot along 13th Avenue South.

Fargo police say they believe the woman, Barbara Anne Barry, 65, was homeless and had been deceased in the car for a few months. They do not suspect foul play.

On Wednesday, a passer-by spotted the body while checking on the car. Police were called to the store, 1401 33rd St. S., at about noon.

When officers arrived, the body was in the car, which was wedged against a large snow pile in the northeast corner of the lot.

Police have said they don't believe Barry died because of the recent cold temperatures.
