Fargo, West Fargo, Moorhead close city services and offices; plows and public safety agencies remain running

FARGO — Due to limited visibility and dangerous driving conditions, all nonemergency city offices and buildings in Fargo and West Fargo closed at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, to allow employees to safely travel home.

Working together, the cities of West Fargo and Fargo jointly decided to protect residents and city staff members by closing early.

Snow plowing services will continue and public safety agencies will be in full operation to protect and serve the residents of West Fargo and Fargo. Snow plows are currently only able to maintain one lane of traffic in each direction on snow emergency routes and will remain dedicated to these routes until the falling and blowing snow subsides.

Garbage collection has been suspended. Crews will collect Friday garbage tomorrow and run the Thursday route again Friday for those who could not get collected Thursday.

The city of Moorhead has announced the closure of non-essential city offices and buildings at 2 p.m. Thursday because of the weather and road conditions. This includes City Hall, the Hjemkomst Center and the Moorhead Sports Center.
