Woman dies in central South Dakota crash with boat trailer

PHILIP, S.D. — One woman is dead following a two-vehicle crash Friday, June 14, on U.S. Highway 14 east of Philip, according to a news release from the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.

A Ford Edge driven by a 30-year-old woman was westbound when it slowed to pull into a driveway. A Chevrolet Silverado, also westbound, attempted to pass the Edge. The Silverado crashed into the Edge and rolled, coming to rest on its roof.

The 32-year-old male driver of the Silverado and two passengers, a girl, 12, and boy, nine, suffered injuries that were not life threatening. A fourth occupant, a 36-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Edge was not injured. All parties involved in the crash were wearing seat belts.

Names have not been released pending notification of family members.
