FARGO — A local Indian restaurant was vandalized around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, June 14.

Security footage from India Palace restaurant shows three individuals, appearing to be young and male, running from the scene after one of the figures lobs something at the building.

That something was a large rock that cracked a window.

Fargo Police Department confirmed that a criminal mischief report was filed on Saturday, June 15.

“They were probably just messing around being stupid kids. Nothing too malicious, hopefully,” said Harpal Singh, son of owner Gurdip Singh.

Singh told The Forum that this is not the first time the restaurant has been vandalized. In the past, the restaurant has been egged and had its catering van scratched up.

“You just kind of expect it now,” he said. “It’s kind of scary, but what can you do? You’ve got to keep your business going.”

Singh said although a police report was filed, he thinks it is unlikely the perpetrators will be caught because the security footage is of poor quality.

He just hopes an incident like this won't happen again.

“Teach your kids about love, to not go destroying other people’s stuff," Singh said. "We’ve worked really hard on this restaurant."
