100-year-old Fargo statue vandalized

FARGO — The Rollo the Viking statue in Fargo has been vandalized.

The statue sits near North Dakota State University's Barry Hall and the Sons of Norway lodge. Owned by the city of Fargo, the statue was originally brought to Fargo in 1905 as a symbol of Norway's independence.

The Fargo Police Department said no report was filed on the vandalism.

The city said it has filed a request to have the statue cleaned.
