Fargo Post 2 wins Dakota Classic championship on a walk-off

SIOUX FALLS S.D. — Fargo Post 2 American Legion baseball team won 12-0 over Pierre Post 8, then capped off the weekend with a walk-off, winning 8-7 to claim the championship title over Norfolk at the Dakota Classic Sunday afternoon.

In the semifinal game against Pierre Post 8, Cole Hage had two hits and five RBIs, including a three run homer to lead Post 2 in a shut-out win and advance to the championship game against Norfolk.

Trailing 7-3 in the last inning, Norfolk rallied to tie it, but Colton Frey hit a walk-off single to avoid extra innings and seal the title for Post 2 (12-1).

Zach Kluvers had three hits to lead Post 2, while Hage registered two RBIs.

Post 2 finished 6-0 in the tournament and will play a doubleheader at Watertown at 1 and 3 p.m. Monday.
