BISMARCK — The West Fargo Patriots won 7-5 and were then shut out 10-0 against the Bismarck Governors on Monday in an American Legion baseball doubleheader.
In Game 1, Dustin Mertz had two hits and three RBIs to lead the Patriots. Drew Clouse and Brayden Jacobson each drove in a run, while Quade Peters tallied two hits.
Despite having a 3-2 hits advantage, West Fargo surrendered 10 runs, committing three errors in Game 2. Peters had two more hits to pace West Fargo. Alex Urlaub added the third hit.
The Patriots (10-5) are scheduled to face the Minot Vistas in a doubleheader at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
