BISMARCK — Fargo Post 2 showed why it is the top seed of the North Dakota Class AA Senior Babe Ruth Baseball state tournament with a 10-0 opening-round win in five innings Tuesday over Fargo Post 400.
Post 2, now with a 43-6 record, got a complete-game pitching performance from Tommy Wellen who allowed only four hits while striking out four.
Cole, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, set a Post 2 single-season doubles record with 24. Zach Sandy went 3-for-3 with two RBI while Drew Sandy went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI and Jace Dew went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
