Scottish based independent software testing company Edge Testing is to open its fourth office in Manchester.

It will be the company’s third Digital Test Hub, joining hubs in Birmingham and at its Bellshill headquarters and bringing the company to a UK-wide client base. The firm also has an office in London.

Edge Testing is the first of its kind providing services such as compatibility testing, website monitoring and testing website performance. Testing services are carried out remotely from its UK hubs to compete with offshore providers.

It also provides cyber security services and training for clients.

Clients include the Scottish Prison Service and Hewlett Packard Silver Partner.

The Manchester hub has five staff and aims to create 60 in the area including test managers, test analysts and trainee software testers. Edge Testing, part of Eurofins Digital Testing, employs 260 people in total.

Sharon Hamilton, Managing Director of Edge Testing, said: “We chose Manchester as our third English base and location for our Northern DTH as the city and wider region both have a strong technology focus and reputation.

"There is also plenty of talent accessible from the local universities and colleges. Our flexible testing models have proven a huge success with our customers and have been a key part of our success in the Midlands, London and Scotland. “

She added: “The North is a highly-valued area for us, and our aim is to increase our existing client base across the region.”
