Glasgow chef Nico Simeone is to introduce his Six by Nico dining concept to Liverpool.

It will be the sixth opening of the hugely successful brand which started out in Glasgow's Finnieston in 2017 and can now be found in Edinburgh, Belfast, Manchester and the south side of Glasgow.

The 345 sq m, 90-cover venue on St Johns Street in Liverpool was formerly La Vina. It will include a dedicated wine and spirits bar.

Six by Nico is based on a set six-course menu based on a 'food story' which changes every six weeks. Themes have included the street markets of the Middle East and a journey on Route 66 in America. Simeone also owns Glasgow venues 111 by Nico and gastropub The Hebridean  on Great Western Road. The original venue is booked up every weekend for the rest of the year.

Simeone said: "We are very excited to bring an unforgettable culinary experience to Liverpool. It was the obvious choice when looking for next site thanks to its thriving food and drink scene.

“Since we opened in Manchester earlier this year we have had an overwhelming amount of support, with guests travelling from all over the North West to try each of our menus. We couldn't be more delighted about bringing a completely new offering and dining experience to the people of Liverpool next".

Serverino designs and creative partners blk 29 are to develop the new restaurant and work is under way. Six by Nico Liverpool plans to create 40 new jobs when it opens in November.
