Tolent to build County Durham residential scheme

Tolent, the Gateshead-based construction company, has been awarded a contract to build 67 new homes in County Durham.

Developer Chapter Homes received planning consent for the residential development at Oakerside Drive, Peterlee, in December 2018.

Pre-commencement activities are progressing at the site, with the first show homes expected to be built by winter 2019, with the first plots available for occupation shortly after.

The project is the second to be completed by the partnership and follows Eden Field, a 143-unit scheme in nearby Newton Aycliffe.

Richard Roddam, development director at Chapter Homes, said: "We can’t wait to get started on our second development of new homes, building on Chapter Homes’ continued success and firmly positioning itself as a quality house builder within County Durham.

"We are delighted to be working again with Tolent and bring to market some much needed, high quality, family homes to this fantastic area."

Chris Price, regional director at Tolent added: "We are delighted to be starting our second project with Richard and the team at Chapter Homes. We have a great working relationship and have created a great team capable of providing a full end-to-end service, including: design, planning, construction and aftercare."
