Manx Financial Group completes Hampshire deal

Isle of Man-headquartered Manx Financial Group has completed the acquisition of Blue Star Business Solutions (BBSL).

The company revealed it had agreed to acquire the entire share capital of the Hampshire business through its subsidiary Bradburn in March 2018.

However, following a review of the BBSL business, the transaction now only include the "more resilient and profitable" small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) loan portfolio.

A statement from Manx said: "This is in line with the group's strategy to limit its UK consumer exposure by a greater concentration on commercial lending, and by increasing distribution via a consolidation of related UK credit brokers.

"As a result, BBSL will reassign their consumer loans (approximately 10 per cent of their overall income) as part of the transaction. The other principal terms of the purchase contract remain as previously announced."

BBSL was founded in 2004 by Marcus Gregory and Mark Hayman. They will remain on the board.

Post-purchase, Manx will offer additional support to BBSL by sourcing loans funded by its banking subsidiary, Conister Bank.
