A scaffolder with a record for domestic abuse created a disturbance at his girlfriend’s home after the pair agreed to part.
Inverness Sheriff Court heard that Reece Taylor (22) of the city's Bruce Gardens had turned up at the property in Dunabban Road on May 10 after a row the previous evening.
Fiscal depute Robert Weir said Taylor damaged a door and was shouting when he wanted to retrieve some of his belongings.
Defence solicitor David Patterson said his client did the right thing and walked away.
He went on: “He has drug and anger issues but is on a community payback order and is benefiting from the supervision. But the court will be losing patience with him.”
Sentence was deferred until July 16 for a report.
