First Highland Adventure Fest for lovers of the great outdoors to take place in Inverness

MORE than 50 exhibitors, a range of talks and a whole host of activities are promised for the first ever Highland Adventure Fest which takes place in Inverness this weekend.

The Planit Scotland event sponsored by Glenmore Lodge takes place at Inverness Leisure Centre from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, March 24.

Bringing together walkers, climbers, kayakers, cyclists and runners, outdoors enthusiasts will be able to try out new kit, book activities and meet new people with a similar interest in the great outdoors.

Exhibitors confirmed include Ace Adventures Hideaways, The Scottish Bothy Bible, Bowhunter Archery, Cycling UK Scotland, Explore Highland, Highland Campervans and Inverness Ramblers.

Speakers include Graeme Ambrose, who will lead his audience on a journey along the new Loch Ness 360 walking and cycling route, and Jamie Maxwell from the School of Adventure Studies who will make the case for more environmentally and socially aware adventure professionals.

Qualified international mountain leader Cory Jones will teach the basics of outdoor first aid and James Slaughter will introduce “Running North”, a short film about the 2018 Cape Wrath Ultra endurance event.

Children aged 12 and under will be admitted free, with adult tickets £4 online and £5 on the door.
