MORE than 1600 people attended the second annual Highland Garden Fest – many asking about plans for next year’s event.

The five-hour festival at Inverness Botanic Gardens included a chance to pick up tips on how to nurture plants and flowers, grow fruit and vegetables, and learn how to attract local wildlife.

There were stalls, activities and entertainment, as well as a programme of talks for garden enthusiasts.

Festival director Cecilia Grigor of Planit Scotland said: “To establish this event in the Highlands makes me and the team incredibly proud.

“We knew after the first year that there was an appetite for a gardening event and 2019 didn’t disappoint with many of the attendees getting in touch already asking for information about 2020!”
