A ROW over noise sparked the row that ended up in court.

The incident, at the Winmar Guest House in Kenneth Street, Inverness, was captured on CCTV and last month the footage was shown to Sheriff Margaret Neilson at Inverness Sheriff Court.

At that point she called for a background report on Dawid Grzybek (33).

He appeared for sentence on Wednesday, having admitted committing the assault on November 6 last year, and was ordered to carry out the maximum unpaid work sentence of 300 hours as well as being placed under social work supervision for a year.

The court heard he had served three previous jail terms.

On the night of the assault Grzybek, of Telford Street, Inverness, called police to complain about noise being made by another resident in the guest house.

Officers attended and spoke to both men before Grzybek complained again 15 minutes later.

Revisiting the house officers spoke to other residents who said there was no noise.

CCTV subsequently recorded Grzybek coming out of his room and words being exchanged between both men before Grzybek pulled the other man to the stairs and pushed him down to the next landing.

He later told police: “I don’t really feel guilty as he was provoking me all night.”
