Helen Smith and David Stewart have campaigned for new crossings on the A82.

PLANS are taking shape for the installation of new controlled pedestrian crossings.

They will be positioned on the A82 – one set between Montague Road and Ardross Street, yards from Highland Council’s headquarters, and the other between Glenurquhart Road and Smith Avenue, close to the Scotmid supermarket.

Highlands and Islands MSP David Stewart has been campaigning for improvements on the road for the past year.

More in Tuesday's Inverness Courier.
