Teenager charged over thefts in Crown and Drummond areas of Inverness

A 19-year-old man has been charged in relation to a number of thefts and attempted thefts in Inverness.

Police Scotland said he has been charged in connection with thefts from two motor vehicles, an attempted theft by housebreaking and three thefts by housebreakings, all during this month.

He is expected to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court today.

Detective Constable Graham Gordon said: ''We would like to thank members of public for their assistance during these enquiries.

"We are committed to tackling acquisitive crimes here in the north and we will use all available options to us to detect crimes when they occur.

"I would like to remind householders to ensure that when leaving their property unattended to ensure that all windows, doors and outbuildings are locked. Also if you hear or see anything suspicious around a property then please call Police Scotland.''

Concerns can be reported to police on 101 or 999 in an emergency. Information can also be passed on anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
