LORNE Mackay will miss Lovat’s MacTavish Cup quarter final clash at Kingussie tomorrow.
The full centre is suspended as the Premiership’s top two square up at The Dell.
But manager Fraser Gallacher has the rest of his squad available as he looks to clinch a place in the last four, aiming to win the trophy they last won five years ago.
“We handled Kingussie well in the league game at Kiltarlity where we conceded a late goal in a 2-2 draw,” he said.
“It is a competition that we won in 2013 and 2014 and the first cup we won with this group of players.
“It is the first cup of the year and if we can get that in the bank we can carry on with confidence into the rest of the season.”
The victors tomorrow will face the winners of another all-premiership clash between Newtonmore and Caberfeidh which goes ahead in seven days time.
Meanwhile Glenurquhart face Skye in Drumnadrochit in an all National Division clash at Blairbeg Park.
Early league results point to the red and blacks being strong promotion contenders.
Glenurquhart co-managers Eddie Tembo and Stuart MacKintosh look to reinvigorate the Glen in their first season and their efforts are bearing early reward in the goal scoring department where frontmen Neale Reid and Ewan Brady look to have developed a good understanding with 11 goals between them.
The winners will face Beauly or Strathglass who meet at Braeview. Both sides have yet to get off the mark in the league with Beauly losing all three matches but sit above Strathglass on goal difference.
Strathglass hope to have Michael Stokes and George Phimister available after missing the defeat by Fort William while Beauly boss Alan MacRae needs goals from his shot-shy forwards who have drawn blanks in their last two games.
