THIS is the woman charged with the murder of father-of-four Pat Ward in Clogher, Co Tyrone.
Both Karen McDonald (33) and 23-year-old Niall Cox appeared in the dock at Dungannon Magistrates Court yesterday to face murder charges.
Mr Ward's body was discovered on Saturday morning at around 8.15am in an alleyway close to the 30-year-old's McCrea Park home.
Results of a post-mortem examination to confirm the exact cause of death have not been made public, with Mr Ward's body not yet returned to his family.
More than 50 relatives and friends of the victim, a member of the Traveller community, were in the public gallery for the short court hearing.
A line of police officers stood between the gallery and the rest of the court.
Both the accused gave an address at McCrea Park and spoke only to confirm their identities and that they understood the charge.
District Judge John Meehan warned that he would clear the court after some distressed relatives of Mr Ward shouted out as the accused were brought into the dock.
Mr Ward's widow Ellie and his mother wept uncontrollably throughout the short hearing, with both women comforted by family members.
The victim was originally from Sligo but had been living in Clogher.
Outside the court, Mrs Ward clutched a picture of her husband said: "Look at what has been taken away from me and my children."
