Roadworks taking place over the next year in North Ayrshire have been revealed.

The area’s roads face a whopping maintenance work backlog of £31.6million but the council needs to spend £3.8 million a year to keep them in their present condition.

Councillors approved where road works will take place in the upcoming year from April 2019 to 2020 at cabinet.

Among the roads getting resurfacing work are: B7081 Annick Road in Irvine at west of pedestrian crossing to East Road, part of the B730 in Drybridge, the full lengths of McGavin Avenue and Queen Street in Kilwinning  at a cost of £41,000, Castlepark Circle in Irvine between junctions at Morar Place and Maree Place and at the junction of Lomond Place at a cost of £92,000, Hayocks Road in Stevenston, Hyslop Road in Stevenston, the A736 in Garnock Valley at Nethergree to Lugtonridge at a cost of £196,000 and the B714 in Saltcoats at Fleming Terrace to north of roundabout at a cost of £130,000.
