Suspect in Monday night Jackson shooting turns self in to Madison County Sheriff's deputy

A suspect in a Monday Jackson shooting turned himself in to a Madison County Sheriff's Office deputy afternoon.

Devoris Antoine Newson, 32, faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to an MCSO news release.

Devoris Newson, 32, believed to be a suspect in a Monday night shooting in Jackson, turned himself in to authorities Tuesday afternoon.

Newson was allegedly involved in a shooting that occurred on Pipkin Road in Jackson at around 10:30 p.m. Monday. One person was taken to the emergency room with minor injuries and later released.

He turned himself in around 2:10 p.m., according to MCSO.
