Tornado warning issued for Madison, Gibson, Carroll and Henderson counties until 3:45, flood advisory issued

The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a tornado warning for Henderson County, Gibson County, Carroll County and Madison County in effect until 3:45 p.m.

A doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm producing a tornado located near Blue Goose, about 10 miles east of Jackson, moving northwest at 25 mph. 

National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a tornado warning for several West Tennessee counties.

Tornado sirens could be heard in the Jackson area as of 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

The NWS says if you are in these areas to seek shelter immediately. Move to a storm shelter or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.

The latest on the remnants of Tropical Storm Barry

The NWS has also issued an urban and small stream flood advisory for Humboldt, Jackson, Medina and Gadsen counties. 

The remnants of Tropical Storm Barry are expected to bring in a moderate to heavy amount of rainfall to the west Tennessee area until Tuesday. The NWS says the greatest risk for flooding is late Sunday night until early Monday morning.

There is also a chance that the storm could bring in short-lived tornadoes on Sunday and Monday.
