Way Day is here as part of a nearly weeklong celebration of Wayfair's customers and engaging the Jacksonville community.

In addition to tooling around in a giant purple limousine visiting customers, Wayfair.com is offering up to 80 percent off on certain items with free shipping and plenty of deals.

"The Way Day sale lasts 36 hours from Wednesday at noon to Thursday at midnight," said Brandon Hart, public relations manager at Wayfair.

To get people to know what’s going on in Jacksonville, Wayfair has planned special promotions since Saturday.

On Sunday, it was the title sponsor of the Jumbo Shrimp game where staff passed out gift cards and each day they brought gifts to valued customers in the Way Day Limo.

"We had a lot of people staring at our limo as we drove around," Hart said. "We brought people planters full of flowers, a doormat and a handful of balloons that they could pop to find gift cards."

Hart and his team also set up shop at Jacksonville Beach to talk about the deals online and play corn-hole with beachgoers.

And staff visited Good Dough at the St Johns Town Center and San Marco locations Wednesday, giving the first 50 customers free doughnuts. At Vagabond Coffee locations downtown and Murray Hill, the first 50 guests got free coffee.

The promotions come as Wayfair continues construction of a 1-million-square-foot distribution center and warehouse in the Cecil Field Commerce Center area. The facility is projected to employ about 250 workers and be operational by the end of 2021.
