Father's Day 2019 deals, specials at Jacksonville-area restaurants

A smorgasbord of Father's Day restaurant specials await dad and the family Sunday. Most establishments recommend reservations, which typically can be made online or by phone.

A sampling of the offerings:

• Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse, 4784 Town Center Parkway, (904) 512-7300 — All fathers who dine on Father's Day will receive a dining card for a complimentary full Churrasco lunch, dinner or weekend brunch on his next visit. Redeemable June 17 – August 29. One complimentary card per dad while supplies last. Kids 6 and under dine free, while  children ages 7-12 are always half price. See the local menu with prices here.
• Copelands of New Orleans, 4310 Southside Blvd., (904) 998-4414 — Father's Day New Orleans Brunch Buffet from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Adults, $34.95, senior citizens, $29.95, children age 5-12, $16.95, and one child under age 5 eats free with each adult entree. See the full local menu with prices here.

• Ruth's Chris Steak House, 1201 Riverplace Blvd. Double Tree by Hilton Hotel, (904) 396-6200 or 814 A1A N., Suite 103, Ponte Vedra Beach, (904)285-0014) — The restaurant will open early at 11:45 a.m. Sunday. Fathers will receive a $25 gift card. The cards will be valid beginning  Monday, June 17 at participating locations only, and must be used towards a future purchase, and other restrictions apply. • River City Brewing Company, 835 Museum Circle, (904) 398-2299 — Father's Day Brunch Buffet from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Adults, $31.95, senior citizens, $29.95, children age 4-15, $15.95, and children 3 and younger are free. See the local menu here.
• Moxie Kitchen + Cocktails, 4972 Big Island Drive, (904) 998-9744 — Father's Day Buffet Brunch from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Adults, $35, children age 5-12, $14 and children under 4 eat free. See what's on the buffet menu here.
• Wicked Barley Brewing Company, 4100 Baymeadows Road, https://www.wickedbarley.com, (904) 379-7077 — Father's Day Brunch 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Although all reservation slots were full, the restaurant posted it "will be accepting a limited number of walk-ins day of and our Beer Garden will also be open with first come, first serve seating" on its Facebook page.
• The Potter's House Soul Food Bistro, 5310 Lenox Ave. and 9400 Atlantic Blvd., website or Facebook. (904) 394-0860. Roast beef dinner including two sides, a roll and a drink for dad at $12.99.
• Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar, all Jacksonville and Northeast Florida locations. Dads will be treated to their choice of two Applebee’s classic Bigger, Bolder Grill Combos, available for one day only. Each will feature a pair of entrees and an abundance of sides. For $19.99, dads can choose from either the 6-ounce sirloin with a half rack ribs or the 6-ounce sirloin with grilled shrimp skewer and crispy shrimp. Those with big appetites can upgrade either Bigger, Bolder Grill Combo to an 8-ounce sirloin for $2 more. For locations, visit their website.
• Pollo Tropical, all Jacksonville and Northeast Florida locations. Pollo is offering a Two Original Family Meals deal. It includes two whole chickens, rice and beans and rolls for just $19.99. The offer requires code M30456 and is valid only on Father's Day dine-in, pick up or drive-thru orders. For larger get-togethers, a special Father’s Day Party Platter for 10 — featuring the brand’s famous citrus-marinated grilled chicken and mojo roast pork, white or brown rice, beans, and rolls — is also available for just $5.99 per person.
