Jacksonville police say a dispute escalated into the fatal shooting of a man at his Westside home Saturday afternoon.

The victim was shot about 4 p.m. at the home in the 6800 block of Tango Lane South and died after being rushed to the hospital, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

The Sheriff's Office hasn't released the victim's name. However, family members told Times-Union news partner First Coast News that he was 21-year-old Alex Karagiannopoulos.

Police have identified a possible suspect but no arrests were reported Sunday. The Sheriff's Office didn't name or describe the suspect.

The Sheriff's Office said witnesses were cooperating with detectives, who also were checking for surveillance video from security cameras in the area.

Neighborhood residents shouldn't be afraid as a result of the shooting, according to the Sheriff's Office.
