Jacksonville police were questioning five people after one man was killed and another wounded in a double shooting Friday in a Lackawanna neighborhood.

Family members said a 32-year-old man was killed the shooting about 5 p.m. in the 3100 block of Dignan Street. It was the second fatal double shooting in less than a week in the neighborhood, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office didn't say whether the two double shootings might be related.

Relatives at the scene of the latest shooting said it stemmed from an argument, Times-Union news partner First Coast News reported.

Police didn't release the names of the man killed or one who was wounded. The deceased is Jacksonville's 94 homicide victim so far this year. There were 69 at the same time last year, according to Times-Union records.

The Sheriff's Office said the man who died at the scene had multiple gunshot wounds. The second man was rushed to the hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and underwent surgery Friday night, police said.

Detectives detained five people for questioning. They were being cooperative, the Sheriff's Office said.

Police said because it was early in the investigation, they didn't have a description of a suspect or getaway vehicle.

Monday night a man was killed and woman injured in a double shooting 500 block of Beaverbrook Place near McDuff Avenue.

Officers found both victims about 9 p.m. Both had been shot several time and were sitting inside a car when arriving officers found them. Two different guns were used in the double shooting, according to the Sheriff's Office.
