Montgomery, defense lead Senators past Bishop Kenny

Fletcher 34, Bishop Kenny 14

Star of the game: Junior running back Myles Montgomery rushed for a game-high 227 yards on 20 rushes and scored two touchdowns to power Fletcher over the Crusaders at Bishop Kenny.

Turning point: Tariq Riley returned the second half kickoff 40 yards to the BK 31 yard line and two plays later Devon Lingle, a Dartmouth commit, rambled 31 yards for a score to give a Fletcher a 14-7 lead. The Senators went on to outscore the Crusaders 27-7 to close out the game.

On defense: Jeffrey Davis had two interceptions and Merritt Reynolds picked off another pass, while Jaylin Vidal recorded two sacks for the Senators. Jordan Brown had a fumble recovery for Bishop Kenny (0-1).

Fast facts: Montgomery, who rushed for 148 yards in the third quarter, had touchdown runs of 35 and 43 yards for Fletcher (1-0).... Sophomore wideout Andrew Tabor had a game-high 10 receptions for 131 yards including a 44 yard TD pass from George Farmand for Bishop Kenny while Louis Riles added a 13 yard rushing TD.
