Jacksonville police: Man shot several times, killed in Mixon Town neighborhood

A 28-year-old man is dead following a Thursday-afternoon shooting in the 2100 block of Clemente Drive, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.
Officers were called to the site near Forest Street and Interstate 95 about 3:40 p.m. where the man was suffering from several gunshot wounds, the Sheriff's Office said. He died at the hospital.
Investigators said the victim was at the edge of the road when the shooter approached and fired several times. Several witnesses were being questioned, but the Sheriff's Office did not provide a description of the shooter.
