Indian Coast Guard Navik GD Recruitment 2021: The Indian Coast Guard has released the notification for recruitment of 260 vacancies of Navik GD (General Duty) @ joinindiancoastguard.gov.in. Navik GD Eligibility Criteria

Check here the detailed eligibility criteria before applying for the Indian Coast Guard Job 2021:

Educational Qualification: Candidate should be 10+2 passed with Maths and Physics subjects from an education board recognized by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) with at least 50% aggregate marks.

Age Limit: The Minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 22 years. (Born between August 1, 1999 to July 31, 2003 )

Indian Coast Guard (Navik GD) Selection Process 2021

The selection procedure for the Indian Coast Guard (Navik GD) is a four-phased process involving:

- Written examination

- Physical Fitness Test

- Medical Examination

Stage 1: Written Examination for Navik GD

Candidates who have applied for the Navik GD recruitment will have to appear for written exam that will comprise Section I & II papers. Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of a higher percentage of marks obtained in a particular examination Centre. The cut-off marks are fixed on the basis of total application received and a total number of vacancies. Have a look at the exam details:

Navik (GD) Passing Marks: UR/ EWS/ OBC - Section 1 (30) + Section 2 (20) =50 
                                                              SC/ST - Section 1 (27) + Section 2 (17) = 44 
Passing in section I and II separately is compulsory

Navik GD Syllabus

In Section 1, questions will be asked from Class 10th Syllabus.

In Section 2, questions will be asked from Class 12th Syllabus from Maths & Physics

Stage 2: Navik GD -  Physical Fitness Test (PFT),  Document Verification, Re-assessment of Inconsistent Performers & Initial Medicals Examination

Physical Fitness Test: Candidates who would qualify written exam will then be called for the PFT. You would be required to perform the following tasks:

1.6 Km run in 7 minutes

20 Squat ups (Uthak Baithak)

10 Push up

List of Documents required for Navik GD Medical Exam

- 3 copies of online e-admit card with latest photograph

- 2 copies of application form

- Original class 10th passing certificate

- Original class 12th passing certificate

- Original Caste certificate

- Original Income certificate for EWS category candidates

- Identity Proof – Passport/driving license/Aadhar card/Voter I-Card/Pan Card

- SC/ST/OBC/PwD certificate for respective category candidates

Re-assessment of Inconsistent Performers: There will be additional Written Exam for inconsistent performers after they qualify the PFT/Document verification. This test is of passing marks and will be conducted on the lines of Stage-I written examination. The marks obtained in this exam will not be counted for merit list.

Initial Medicals Examination: The candidate will have to undergo another initial medical exam if the recruitment process gets delayed due to unforeseen event like COVID pandemic or other.

Stage 3: Navik GD - Document Verification, Final Medicals at INS Chilka, & Submission of original document, police verification

Document Verification: All the information of the online application form has to match with the original documents like grade X/XII/ Diploma mark sheet/photo Identity card/caste certificate/individual subject and aggregate marks.

Any inconsistency in the documents & application will lead to failure in document verification and the candidature will be cancelled. 

Final Medicals at INS Chilka: The Final Medical Examination will be done at INS Chilka. Candidates who are declared as medically unfit will NOT be enrolled for training. "An Appeal" is allowed for medically unfit candidates.

Submission of original document & police verification : All the candidates need to submit original documents & police verification forms along with the e-admit card of Stage-III. 

Stage 4: Navik GD

Indian Coast Guard will ask the candidates to submit all the original documents and verification through boards/universities/state government. Candidate will be terminated from services, if the documents are not genuine.

Navik GD Cut Off Marks: Relaxation in Minimum Cut off

India Coast Guard will give 5% relaxation in minimum cut off to:

- SC/ST candidates

- Outstanding sports personnel of National level who have obtained 1st, 2nd or 3rd position in any sports

- Wards of Coast Guard Uniform Personnel who died while in service

Training of Navik (GD)

Candidates who will be selected for the post of Navik (GD) will be trained at INS Chilka followed by sea training and
professional training in the allotted trade. Following this, Navik GDs are deputed for afloat training of 3 months and then the Cadre training. This training period can vary from 4-6 months. The training will commence in August 2021.

Navik (GD) Salary

The officers hired as Navik (GD) in Indian Coast Guard are offered a basic pay of Rs. 21700 (Pay Level-3) along with Dearness Allowance & other allowances.
