With an aim to boost the quality of school education in the state, Uttarakhand Government is planning to setup Kendriya Vidyalaya Schols in each block of the state. As per the official statement, Uttarakhand Government is working on a plan through which it will setup Kendriya Vidyalaya Schols in each of the 95 blocks of the state. The decision is likely to give the necessary boost to the quality of school education state and make available quality infrastructure and facilities to students at school level through the newly setup KVs.
CM Writes to HRD Ministry
Earlier in August 2019, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat had written to the HRD Ministry to explore a possibility of setting up of a Kendriya Vidyalaya in every block of the state. The proposal submitted by the UK CM was forwarded by the Ministry to the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan by the HRD Ministry. KVS has now reached out to the Uttarakhand Government, especially the School Education Department to identify the land for setting up KV Schools in each block.
UK Government to submit detailed project proposal
Along with the identification of right land and location for setting up of the new Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools, KVS has also asked the School Education Department of Uttarakhand Government to prepare a detailed project proposal for the same and submit it with the KVS for evaluation. Following this, UK Government has started the process of identifying land in all the blocks where KV Schools can be setup.

According to the statement issued by School Education Department Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, currently, there are a total of 95 blocks in UK state, out of which 25 blocks fall in plain areas while the rest 70 fall in hilly areas. The 25 blocks in plain areas have strong presence of KV Schools, therefore, the state government is looking to augment the number of KV Schools in Hilly region and provide children in these blocks with a chance to get good education.
Currently, the school education department has written to all the district education officers asking them to look for suitable land for the schools; the final proposal will be compiled by the Department after they receive inputs from DEOs. As per the latest data, currently there are a total of 45 KV Schools based in Uttarakhand state, but most of them are located in plain regions.
