Jamestown Eagles fall in game one to Fargo Post 400

Game one of Wednesday evening's doubleheader knocked some of the rust off for the Jamestown Eagles.

The Eagles fell 17-5 to Fargo Post 400 at Jack Brown Stadium. Post 400 is a Class AA division ranked team while the Eagles are in the Class A West.

The Eagles kept things tight with Post 400 when recent Jamestown High School grad Chris Erickson hit the home plate off a single from Jacoby Nold. The run matched the Jake Bryants, bringing the first inning to an end with a score of 1-1.

Things looked up for the Eagles in the bottom of the second.

With one out and runners on second and third base, Erickson stepped up to the plate. The Eagles' leadoff hitter smashed a line drive to right field sending Jacob Schempp home and Gage Orr to third base. Conner Hoyt took the plate next and hit a ground-out to second that sent Orr home, recording the Eagles' third score of the game.
