Illinois woman critical after rollover accident

A Danville, Illinois, woman was critically injured in this rollover crash Friday morning on Indiana 25 near County Road 1000 South.

WEST POINT — Thirty-year-old Corina Sanchez of Danville, Illinois, suffered critical injuries Friday morning when she was ejected from her car during an accident south of West Point.

Tippecanoe County sheriff's deputies report that Sanchez was southbound on Indiana 25 about 5:05 a.m. Friday and lost control of her Buick LeSabre on the bend in the road just north of Tippecanoe County Road 1050 South.

Her car left the west side of the highway, spun on the wet grass, then rolled, according to the sheriff's office news release.

Sanchez, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from her car and found lying in the road, according to the news release. She was unresponsive at the scene.

Investigators believe that Sanchez might have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, according to the news release.

Medics rushed Sanchez to Franciscan Health East, where she was taken into surgery, according to the news release. Her condition is critical, according to the sheriff's office.
