Audition notices for Milwaukee area theater and music productions (Winter 2019 edition)
The audition season continues with important updates. With that in mind, here is a roundup of where area actors, singers, dancers and musicians can find audition information:
ComedySportz is in need of Ballet Parkers for the weekends. Ballet Parkers wear tutus and dance people into their parking spaces. No actual parking of cars. Minimum pay and tips. More information: Richard Chudnow, (414) 708-3855.
The Fireside Dinner Theatre is looking for girls, ages 7 to 14, who are no taller than 5’3” for "Annie." Auditions will be held at 6 p.m. May 8 at The Fireside, 1131 Janesville Ave., Fort Atkinson. Prepare a short song and bring sheet music for the accompanist. Bring a current photo that will not be returned, and arrive on time, as latecomers will not be seen. All roles are paid. In addition to the role of Annie, there will be two casts of 6 orphans each who will alternate performances. The show begins rehearsals on July 1, with performances from July 18 - Sept. 1. Greenfield Concert Band is scheduling auditions now for Spring. View the open instrumentation and complete the membership form on the band website. The band rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Greenfield High School band room. More information: greenfieldconcertband.org
Milwaukee Symphony Chorus will hold new singer auditions by appointment only for the 2019-'20 season on March 23 and April 27. Singers will be asked to perform a classical or art song vocal solo, a chromatic vocalise, brief sight-singing passages, and an optional prepared passage from Handel’s Messiah. Singers who audition on March 23, in addition to being considered for next season, may be eligible to join the MSC for the capstone concert series of this season, "Carmina Burana," which will be performed with the MSO from June 21-23. Those auditioning on April 27 would be auditioning only for next season. Complete the online submission form and the Chorus Manager will contact you with further audition details and instructions. Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra is holding auditions for string, woodwind, brass, percussion, steel pan, and jazz musicians, ages 8-18, from April 3-7. Auditions will be held by appointment only at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center. Information and audition registration: myso.org

Mojo Dojo Comedy is holding auditions for ensemble members from 2 to 4 p.m. April 7. Key roster spots are available on several longform improv teams that are in need of enthusiastic, energetic, supportive, and assertive players. Schoolhouse Players welcomes new members to join the volunteer group which brings live theater performances to local students in Lake Country area. Volunteer opportunities exist in costuming, scenery design, scenery construction, performing and crewing. Meetings are held the first Tuesday morning every month from March through May.
