Macarons are one of the bakery items sold at the new Woops kiosk at Brookfield Square. It's the first location in Wisconsin for the national chain.

The growth of macarons, the little filled meringue cookies, is showing no signs of slowing in Milwaukee. Now Woops, a New York-based bakery selling macarons and other international pastries, has a kiosk in Brookfield Square’s center court.

The franchisee for the bakery is Shahnoza Saadati, a Brookfield resident and native of Uzbekistan. It’s the first location in Wisconsin for Woops, which has more than 50 locations in 18 states.

The kiosk sells macarons in a variety of flavors like mojito, blueberry cheesecake and cookies and cream, along with other desserts made in the company’s bakery in New York City or imported from Europe. One macaron is $2.70; they’re also sold by the box and for occasions in three sizes of pyramids, from $95 for a small to $450 for a large.

Other items sold at the kiosk include the filled Latin American cookies called alfajores ($2.75), cremebellos, chocolate-covered marshmallow in various flavors ($2.50), waffles ($2.70) and cookies ($3.50).

The kiosk is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday; it’s online at bywoops.com. Brookfield Square is at 95 N. Moorland Road.
