Milwaukee woman is charged in the shooting death of her child's father

A Milwaukee woman was charged Wednesday in the fatal shooting of the father of her 1-year-old child.

Shasta T. Flowers, 23, is charged with second-degree reckless homicide/use of a dangerous weapon in the death of Montrell T. Marks, 22, according to a criminal complaint.

Marks was shot Friday in the 2600 block of North 48th Street, according to Milwaukee police.

According to the complaint, Marks and Flowers started arguing when Marks went to Flowers' home to pick up his child.

The argument became physical and Marks struck Flowers before she retrieved a gun and shot him, according to the complaint.

Flowers was in the Milwaukee County Jail on Wednesday, with bail set at $100,000, according to jail records.

If convicted she could be sentenced to up to 30 years in prison.
