2 adults arrested after 2-year-old injures self with gun

A Milwaukee man and woman are in custody after waiting two days to report a 2-year-old got hold of a gun and shot himself with it.

The child did not suffer life-threatening injuries, police said in a news release. The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 5100 block of North Lovers Lane Road but was not reported until Thursday when the child was taken to a hospital.

The adults arrested are ages 23 and 21, police said. Charges will be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
