Victim identified in St. Paul homicide

ST PAUL, Minn. — The victim of a Monday morning homicide in St. Paul has been identified as a 20-year-old man from North St. Paul.

St. Paul police say Randy Malloyd Davis Jr. died hours after being shot on the 1000 block of Sims Avenue.

At approximately 10:30 a.m. Monday, officers were sent to the area on a report of a person that was shot. 

A woman called 911 and requested an ambulance be sent to the address.

A second 911 caller also reported somebody had been shot. A female could be heard screaming in the background, police said.

When officers arrived, they located Davis in a bedroom of the home with a gunshot wound to his chest.

Paramedics transported Davis to Regions Hospital where he died from his injuries at around 2 p.m.  

No arrests have been made. Police are still investigating.

This is the 14th homicide of 2019 in St. Paul.
