A Baton Rouge woman is being charged with her second DUI after striking a school bus head-on Friday morning.

Police responded to the crash around 7:30 on Highway 11 in Slidell.

No children were on board the bus at the time, according to police, but law enforcement had to shut the road down for over two hours.

Alexandra Alley, 26, crossed the centerline into the path of the bus. The crash snapped a wheel off the bus; that wheel then hit an unmarked Louisiana Probation and Parole police vehicle.

The bus driver and Alley both sustained minor injuries. The parole officer in the other car was uninjured.

Police say it was "apparent" that Alley was under the influence of narcotics and impaired.

A spokesperson said she was confused and "had no idea where she was."

Alley was taken to a hospital for treatment.

She will be booked into Slidell City Jail on several charges, including Driving under the Influence (2nd Offense).

Alley was also charged with a DUI in Baton Rouge in 2015.
