Changes are coming to Iowa. This year 518 vendors applied for licenses to sell fireworks.
That's down nearly 35 percent from last year, when 791 vendors were given licenses.
Fireworks sellers say some vendors may have dropped out. They say that's because more cities have put into effect restrictive ordinances.
Another reason may be the weather.
Rainy weather douses fireworks sales, and this spring we've seen heavy rain and flooding, especially in eastern and western Iowa.
