Des Moines police identify motorcyclist killed in crash with stolen vehicle
The Des Moines Police Department identified a motorcyclist killed Sunday after being struck by a stolen vehicle.According to a news release, 51-year-old Des Moines resident Bounleua Lovan died following a hit-and-run crash in the 2400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway. Des Moines police said the passenger of the vehicle involved fled the scene of the crash before the vehicle crashed again into a building on 2501 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway.Police said the 52-year-old driver of the vehicle, which police later determined to have been stolen, attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by nearby officers.The driver remains hospitalized for observation. So far, no charges are filed in the crash.
