Police: Motorcyclist dies after hit-and-run crash on MLK Jr. Parkway
The Des Moines Police Department said a man has died after a crash between a motorcycle and a vehicle. Shortly after 8:30 p.m. Sunday, authorities responded to the 2400 block of MLK Jr. Parkway. They found that the passenger of the vehicle involved had fled the scene of the crash before it crashed again into a building on 2501 MLK Jr. Parkway. The driver of the vehicle is a 52-year-old man who attempted to flee the scene on foot. Authorities were able to locate him and transported him to a local hospital with minor injuries. Police said the vehicle involved was stolen. The 51-year-old man riding the motorcycle died at the hospital due to his injuries. The Des Moines Police Department is still investigating the crash.
